Los Angeles Lakers Schedule 2022-23, Games We’re Looking Forward To

Written By

The Lakers organization underwent a lot of changes this summer with only six players returning from last year and Darvin Ham leading a brand-new coaching staff. Below, we have the full Lakers schedule for 2022-23.

L.A. is hoping that will lead to better results after a 33-49 season in 2021-22, missing the playoff altogether. The Lakers still employ LeBron James and Anthony Davis though and got much younger around them, leading to some optimism within the organization that they can turn things around.

Here is the full Lakers 2022-23 schedule, as well as a few games we’re looking forward to most.

Now, let’s take a look at some of the most intriguing games on the slate.

Lakers vs. Nets on Nov. 13

A lot of the rumors surrounding the Lakers this past offseason involved the Nets as L.A. was trying to swap Russell Westbrook for Kyrie Irving.

Ultimately, the Nets were able to convince Kevin Durant and Irving to stay with the franchise to give it another run.

This is a game that will again feature a ton of star power with two teams coming off disappointing 2021-22 seasons. If the Lakers and Nets figure it out in 2022-23 then they both have very high ceilings. If they don’t though then both could also be on the verge of disaster, which will make this game that much more exciting to watch.

Lakers at Bucks on Dec. 2

The next game on my list comes at the beginning of December when the Lakers travel to take on the Bucks, which represents a homecoming for Ham.

As a former Bucks assistant, Ham knows better than anyone what that team is trying to do, giving the Lakers at least a small edge.

Milwaukee still has Giannis Antetokounmpo and a championship-level roster though, providing another nice early-season test for James, Davis and Co.

Lakers vs. Celtics on Dec. 13

The final game on my list is, of course, the first matchup between the Lakers and bitter-rival Celtics.

Regardless of where these teams are at in the standings, Lakers-Celtics games are always competitive and mean a little extra to the players and fanbases.

The Celtics are coming off a strong season in which they went to the NBA Finals and should be good again in 2022-23 despite all the drama surrounding them and the suspension of head coach Ime Udoka.

Matchups between James and Jayson Tatum have typically been very entertaining.
