Dave Bontempo is a Hall of Fame broadcaster and award-winning writer enjoying his fifth decade of sports coverage. He has broadcast major fights all over the world for major networks like HBO and Showtime, calling bouts involving everyone from Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson to Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather and events like Mayweather-Conor McGregor in 2017.

He’s a member of the New Jersey boxing Hall of Fame and the Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame. He was honored for excellence in broadcasting by the Boxing Writers Association of America in 1998. He also called the U.S. Poker championships on ESPN, billiards for the Armed Forces Network, and has hosted shows involving NHL players. The legalization of sports betting ties him back to newspaper stints like covering all major sports for the Press of Atlantic City.  He was honored there by the New Jersey Press Association for boxing coverage.

Dave lives near Atlantic City, N.J. and graduated Glassboro State College in  1978.

His current work on various play sites reflects his career-long role as an analyst.

Dave loves breaking down point spreads, analyzing betting trends and finding value for bettors rather than advising them how to bet. Notes that there are several hundred wagers that can be placed on any NFL game and thus finding the right spot for value outweighs the idea of “THE” pick.
