The LA Rams were derailed by injuries in 2022, and that includes some of their biggest stars like wide receiver Cooper Kupp.

In 2021, Kupp was unquestionably the best wide receiver in the NFL. He was the first player in two decades to earn the triple crown and just missed setting the NFL’s receiving record, hauling in 145 catches for 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns.

As far as fantasy goes, Kupp was the top-ranked wideout going into the 2022 season, and why shouldn’t he have been? In addition to his ridiculous regular season, Kupp was also dominant in the playoffs en route to Super Bowl MVP honors. Currently, for 2023, Kupp is the No. 14 overall player and No. 4 receiver at Fantasy Pros.

That is merely for 2023, but here are his dynasty marks.

Cooper Kupp dynasty rankings (Updated March 28, 2023)

After checking out a number of different fantasy sites’ rankings for 2023, it’s clear that Kupp will be a consensus top-five receiver once again in 2023. Though with dynasty, age is a factor, and Kupp will be 30 by next opening day.

Pro Football Focus ranks Kupp the No. 21 overall player in dynasty formats. That makes him WR 13. At FantasyPros, he is the No. 29 overall dynasty player and WR 16.

For 2023, there is a clear “Tier 1” of six receivers that includes the usual suspects: Kupp, Jefferson, Hill, Chase, Diggs and Adams. Those guys are all so good that it will come down to personal preference for fantasy owners, but Kupp’s average ranking is No. 3 behind Jefferson and Chase. Those guys are younger and just entering the primes of their career, so it makes sense with Kupp about to turn 30 and coming off injury.

The next tier after the top six includes guys like CeeDee Lamb, A.J. Brown, Jaylen Waddle and Amon-Ra St. Brown, although it is hard to imagine Kupp falling below any of those guys despite them all being much younger.

When looking at the Rams’ projected offense in 2023, there isn’t a lot of fantasy relevancy. Cam Akers should be back in the RB2 mix after a strong close to the season, but neither Allen Robinson nor Van Jefferson will be ranked in the top 50 for receivers. That means that Kupp should have a ridiculous target share once again, and knowing his work ethic, he should be primed for an excellent bounce-back season in 2023 if he can stay healthy.

Cooper Kupp 2023 fantasy outlook

Kupp was limited to just nine games in 2022, suffering a high ankle sprain midway through the season that put him out for the rest of the year. If the Rams were in the playoff mix then perhaps Kupp may have made a late-season comeback, but L.A. finished 5-12 so unfortunately for fantasy owners, he was shut down for the year.

When Kupp did play though he was his usual great self, finishing with 75 receptions for 812 yards and six touchdowns. If that was spread out to a full season, Kupp would have been a top-three fantasy receiver along with Jefferson and Tyreek Hill.

Now, looking ahead to 2023, where will Kupp rank? The good news is that his ankle issue is essentially behind him by now and he will have a healthy offseason. More good news is that Matthew Stafford said he will not retire so should be the Rams’ quarterback in 2023. It’s no secret that Stafford and Kupp have a special connection, and that was evident after Stafford got hurt in 2022 and Kupp wasn’t nearly productive in the couple of weeks he played with Rams backups.
